Multifocal

As we age, the eyes lose the ability to focus on near objects. This phenomenon is known as Presbyopia. Presbyopia can be treated using lenses such as a progressive(no line), trifocal, or bifocal lenses. Less well known is that there are many options for the treatment of presbyopia in the form of contact lenses. Wearing contact lenses designed for both near and distance viewing does have some challenges, but if tolerated can give you increased freedom from glasses and the inconvenience of ‘readers’. Be sure to talk to your optometrist if you would like to consider trying contact lenses for presbyopia.
